Dear Colleagues,
The 2. International Hypospadias Surgery Workshop was a great success with 100 participants from 15 countries. We heard state of the art lectures by Prof. Ricardo Gonzãles, Prof. Ahmed Hadidi and Prof. Sava Perovic including all aspects of hypospadias surgery, basic scientific aspects, personal preferences, experts’ opinion and hidden tips & tricks. We could enjoy viable discussion in a friendly scientific atmosphere.
Live surgery included repair of distal and proximal hypospadias, redo surgery and surgery in the adult hypospadias patient.
Moreover, we had a wonderful dinner at the Kunsthistorisches Museum and a wonderful night at Nierscher, a typical Viennese Heurigen (winery).
We want to say thank you to all guest surgeons for performing their art and sharing their knowledge with us and like to invite you the 3. International Hypospadias Surgery in 2010. Information will be available soon on our website.
Yours respectfully,
Univ.-Prof. Ernst Horcher
Dear Colleagues,
We like to invite you to the 2nd International Hypospadias Workshop in Vienna in December 2009. With over 80 participants from many different countries, the 1st international workshop in 2006 was a great success. There has been increasing requests from many participants to repeat the workshop and show 3 years follow up of the operations performed during the first workshop in 2006.
Hypospadiology is an ever evolving speciality. There has be major advances in the understanding of the normal development of the penis and urethra as well as the pathogenesis of hypospadias. The need for hypospadias workshops is evident considering the frequency of hypospadias workshops every month all over the world. In spite of more than 300 operations described for the correction of hypospadias, the ultimate goal of a normal functioning and looking penis has not been achieved. The 2009 faculty has been carefully chosen to cover the whole spectrum of the anomaly and provide excellent surgical experience and divergent surgical views regarding the surgical management of hypospadias.
Vienna is an exciting city in winter with lovely snowy parks, churches and castles. You will never forget the cultural events, the clubs and cafes and the beauty of Vienna.
We are looking forward to welcoming you all in December in Vienna, the city of culture and science and to share with you the excellent scientific and social program in a friendly atmosphere.
Yours respectfully,
Univ.-Prof. Ernst Horcher
