1. International Workshop of Hypospadias-Surgery 2006
Dear Colleagues,
On April 6 and 7 we held the First International Workshop on Hypospadias Surgery in Vienna. 46 participants from all over Europe were welcomed. With participation of
Prof. Ahmed Hadidi from Cairo/Egypt and Heidelberg/Germany as guest surgeon and guest lecturer the workshop was highly successful. During two days a great spectrum of hypospadias surgery was covered. Prof. Hadidi held state of the art lectures with eloquence and knowledge.
There were operation of distal hypospadias using the modified Mathieu-Y-V-plasty, using Mustarde-Urethroplasty and the new inverted-Y-Plasty (Hadidi).
There was correction of urethral stenosis and fistula after multiple operations.
There was correction of complicated hypospadia (more than 30) including scar reduction, freeing of the corpora cavernosa, excision of urethral fistulae and excessive urethral tissue and prearrangement for a second step of urethral reconstruction.
Moreover, we had a wonderful dinner at the Kunsthistorisches Museum and a wonderful night in the art gallery.

Program of the workshop 2006
Dear Colleagues,
Hypospadiology is developing into a real and reputable subspecialty. Pediatric urologists, pediatric surgeons, plastic surgeons, pediatricians and psychologists care for patients with hypospadias. For still unknown reasons the incidence of hypospadias is rising. Further improvement, technical advancement, standardization and research will be of need in the future to give the patients a maximum of functional and cosmetic results – to give them a normal penis to achieve a later prosperous and satisfactory life. Prof. Ahmed Hadidi, an international established hypospadiologist, from Cairo / Heidelberg will be guest surgeon for the workshop. A special interest of the workshop will be the management of early and late postoperative complications.
Vienna is a very enjoyable city in the time of spring.
Loking forward to seeing you in April,

Dear Colleagues,
The last workshop in 2006 was tremendously successful with over 40 participants from many different countries that we came to the conclusion it should be worthwhile to organize another workshop for spring/summer 2007. As we stated last year: hypospadiology is an autonomous speciality and there is profound interest in surgeons, urologists and pediatricians in the management of hypospadias.
